Thrown on the potter's wheel using iron rich clay from St Agnes, Cornwall, this barrel bellied mug sits comfortably in the hand. Glazed in traditional Shino glaze. The splash of slip decorating the walls has picked up some volatile copper from the kiln atmosphere giving the lichen coloured flashing on the sides.
The inside of the mug is glazed in a grey/green celadon.
Fired to 1300 degrees C.
Toasty raw clay is revealed at the base.
My potter's mark is on the base. The mug in the picture is the one you will receive.
