Thrown on the potter's wheel using iron rich clay from St Agnes, Cornwall, this barrel bellied mug sits comfortably in the hand. Glazed in traditional Shino glaze with a splash of slip decorating the walls. The mug sat near the front of the wood kiln which exposed it to more heat-work and ash meaning the glaze has rich autumnal tones and variation.
The inside of the mug is glazed in a grey/green celadon. Toasty raw clay is revealed at the base.
Fired to 1300 degrees C.
