Cornish Engine House
Cornish Engine House
Hand-built Mini Cornish Engine House.
Inspired by the engine house at Kilifreth Mine over Hawk’s Shaft near Wheal Chacewater later known as Wheal Busy. There was mining in this area since 16th century; producing copper, tin and arsenic. The engine house this design is based upon was built in 1892.
Made using Staffordshire clay. Fired to 1240 degrees centigrade. The house you receive may differ slightly from the house in the picture. My potter’s mark is on the inside.
Dimensions (all measurements are approx):
Height: 10m
Width: 5cm
Made with lead free glazes.
