Been approached by stores already but have no idea how to handle it?
Are you too scared to approach retailers because you are worried you will look like a complete amateur….
…so, you just don’t!
You don’t even know where to start when it comes to finding places to stock your work? When other makers seem to have it all worked out.

There are plenty of resources out there which can help navigate wholesale but they’re usually written from the perspective of businesses who buy in stock or from coaches/ business consultants and NOT actually makers themselves.
Where to find and how to approach stockists
Ensure stockists LOVE working with you
Price your work so YOU ARE making a profit
Keep those relationships working for you
How to feel GOOD about wholesale
ALL the essential templates to get your wholesale started
YOU WOULD LOVE TO START WORKING WITH SHOPS AND GALLERIES BUT DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START.
You’re a maker that creates pottery or any other handmade work.
You’ve dipped your toe in the waters of selling and want to take it further.
You are too scared to approach retailers because you are worried you will look like a complete amateur.
You struggle to make a living from your pottery/craft.
You’ve been approached by stores already but have no idea how to handle it.
You’ve had a bad selling experience before and are scared to make the same mistakes again!
You’re frustrated by the cut that gallery owners and stockists want to take.
You’d rather spend your time making than constantly posting on instagram.
You want to sell more but don’t know how to reach more customers.
You want to scale your business without a ton of investment.
You want to take steps to turn your hobby into a business.
You’re ready to move from feeling like an amateur to feeling like a professional
You don’t want to continue on missing out on the revenue wholesale can provide
You want to be able to say: ‘you can find my work in… (insert dream retailers name here)’
I make (fill in the blank). Is the course right for me?
Yes absolutely. The course is written from a potter’s perspective because (obvs I am a potter!) but the info is applicable for all crafts. Personally, I think pottery is one of the hardest crafts to make money from (because hello! we are working with over 1000 degrees centigrade and everything takes sooo long to make) So if a potter can make wholesale work then any craft can!
I don’t live in the UK, can I still do it?
Yes! All the principles discussed in the course are universally relevant. Sure, there will be differences in your local market but the principles for making a profit and working with stockists are the same where ever you live. The course is in English.
Will you be running the course again?
Due to needing time to make work for my own wholesale clients and customers I only open enrolment once a year. The next time I will be running the course after March will be 2024. Enrolment closes Sunday 19th March.
How long is the course?
The course is 6 weeks. The course is drip fed to you in bite sized chunks. We work through each section together with a new module added every week for 6 weeks.
Are there scholarships available?
Scholarships are available:
I have space to give two 50% scholarships on the March 2023 enrolment of The Smart Maker’s Guide to Wholesale Course. One of the scholarships is reserved for BIPOC. Please use this application form to apply.
I’m nervous about doing another online course, why is yours different?
I hear you. Let me be honest, I was nervous about being one of the IG crowd who are offering yet another course! I only want to provide something which is truly helpful and relevant. I’m on a mission to help my fellow crafters (and retailers). If you are successful then I am successful. If this course doesn’t work then I am not interested in providing it.
I’m not sure I can afford to invest in a course right now…
And that’s totally understandable, it’s tough to be a small business (especially right now) but I designed this course to be effective at helping you make more money for your business. If you can start working with wholesalers imagine what that could mean for your business a year from now? I aim for you to get the return back you invested in this course with your first wholesale order.
How long do I have access to the course?
For life. Your enrolment will never expire. That means you’ll get access to all future updates of the course too.
What if I am unhappy with the course?
It is important for me and my students to only attract people to the course who will benefit from the content. I carefully describe the content of the course throughout all my communications leading up to enrollment opening. An outline of all the lectures is also available to preview on the Teachable sales page here.
If you are not sure if the course is for you please email me to discuss your experience and where you are currently at. I will always give you an honest response as to whether I think the course is right for you.
I can’t guarantee that by taking the course you’ll get stockists but if the course does not propel your business forward in some way then it hasn’t done it’s job. If you show up, read all the lessons, do all the tasks, I’m confident it will provide a meaningful transformation, if it doesn’t I’ll give you your money back.
All I ask is that you provide your SMGW workbook as evidence of your participation.
