This one person teapot was thrown on the potter's wheel in a single piece using iron rich clay from St Agnes, Cornwall. It was altered when it was leather hard to give it a flat bottom and angle the spout. A lid was cut and the handle lugs were added.
Glazed in traditional Shino glaze which displays more opaque white where it is thickest and an ombre of warm autumnal peach and tan where it's thinner. The beautiful speckle of the clay beneath shines through. The teapot has been finished with a jute covered brass handle.
My potter's mark by the glaze line at the rear. The teapot in the picture is the one you will receive.
This teapot has an excellent pour. It does not have a leaf strainer so you'll need to use it in conjunction with a strainer.
