Stormy Seas Jug
Large hand thrown jug.
Handmade on my potter's wheel using buff stoneware clay. I leave it to dry for a day or two, then I added the handle. The jug was then left to completely dry. Once bone dry it was fired to 1060 degrees centigrade.
Glazed with my Stormy Seas glaze. The interior has been glazed in transparent. A beautiful effect has been created on the rim where the two glazes have merged.
The jug is then fired a second time to 1240 degrees centigrade making it strong and durable. My potter’s mark is on the base of the handle.
