Bookend Planters I

Bookend Planters I
Bookend Planters - set of two.
Display your books and plants together.
Made using black stoneware clay. These planters were made with a combination of throwing and hand building. A double cylinder is thrown on the wheel; the large internal cyiinder holds the plant and the smaller external cylinder creates the saucer. The cylinder was cut in half and attached to a slab to create the flat back which holds your books upright. For a step by step on how to make a planter like this yourself join my Patreon.
Each piece is then finished in a layered glaze: a rich, glossy Dark Skye blue paired with my signature Glenbrittle glaze. The surface reveals soft, misty blues and gentle greys, while at the points where the two glazes meet, delicate shades of pink and coral emerge. Fired to 1240 degrees centigrade.
The pots in the picture are the pots you will receive.
Plants in the picture are stunt plants, you’ll have to pop your own plant in.
